Indie recording artist, singer-songwriter and producer Bob Slaughter serves up an eclectic musical palette, infusing world music – reggae, Celtic, and Afro-beat – with folk, rock, jazz and Texas Swing, with a healthy dose of contemporary psychedelic sensibility. In addition to his album Earth Warrior to be released in the fall of 2023, Slaughter has self-produced and released five other albums: The World Passes By (2020), We Are Water (2017), The River Knows (2014), Leap of Faith (2011), and Bob Here Now (2009). A longtime player in the Austin music scene, Slaughter has performed as an opener for such bands as Andrew Tosh & the Peter Tosh Band, Ini Kamoze, Yellow Man, along with other bands from Jamaica and Africa, and performed at such legendary venues as Austin’s Liberty Lunch, Antone's, Flamingo Cantina & Mercado Caribe. Slaughter is an accomplished live-looping solo artist, creating musical landscapes of serenity & lyrical poignancy, as well as some wildly fun cover songs. He also performs in a duo with the internationally acclaimed singer Julie Ragins, and with his Laughing Waters trio with Mark Sebly on bass & Mike Fowler on fiddle, and a collective of Hill Country Americana musicians known as Ghost Jam Players. Bob’s music & lyrics serve as a vehicle for spreading peace, love & joy.
